The Role
As the Application Support Specialist at Honey Birdette, your primary objective will be to provide 1st and 2nd level application and development support to internal business stakeholders across our core business systems.
This hands-on role requires you to blend project application responsibilities with operational support tasks. You will be integral in the implementation and maintenance of several business systems, ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently.
Your responsibilities include troubleshooting issues, performing system upgrades, and providing user training. Additionally, you will collaborate with various departments to understand their needs and ensure our applications meet business requirements. Your ability to communicate effectively and your technical expertise will be crucial in delivering high-quality support and enhancing our overall business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve application issues and support tickets reported by users, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
- Perform root cause analysis on recurring issues to prevent future occurrences.
- Conduct regular system health checks and performance tuning to ensure optimal operation.
- Implement software updates, patches, and fixes to maintain system integrity and security.
- Develop and update user manuals, FAQs, and other instructional materials.
- Accurately log incidents and service requests, categorizing them for efficient processing.
- Monitor and track the resolution process, ensuring compliance with SLAs.
- Use monitoring tools to track application performance, identifying and addressing potential issues proactively.
- Configure and manage alerts to quickly respond to system anomalies.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document application requirements and work with development and infrastructure teams to implement solutions that meet business needs.
- Create and maintain comprehensive user manuals and help guides.
- Assist in the rollout of new applications, ensuring they are integrated smoothly with existing systems and provide support during the initial post-implementation phase to address any issues.
- Provide feedback to developers on bugs and performance issues identified during testing.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts to improve testing efficiency.
- Validate new releases and updates before they are deployed to production environments.
- Coordinate with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve application-related issues.
- Review vendor contracts and SLAs to ensure compliance and satisfactory service delivery.
- Regularly evaluate support processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies, and continuously develop skills through training and certifications.
Your Sweet Spots (About You)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience with e-commerce platforms
- Omnichannel order management
- Point of sale and ERP experience
- Microsoft 365 apps and services
- Proficiency in basic SQL and the ability to modify queries.
- Knowledge of programming languages preferably .Net
- Knowledge of Business Intelligence toolset (e.g. Power BI)
- Proficient understanding of application system architectures
- Previous experience in a retail environment a plus
